This quick-fire keynote introduces the data sharing guidance that has been developed to assist universities when deciding whether to share personal data in respect of harassment cases. The objective of the guidance is to empower institutions to make informed, pragmatic and considered decisions with regards to sharing personal data, to ensure harassment cases are dealt with in a more transparent way, and in a way that is more satisfactory for all involved. It seeks to encourage HEIs to move away from blanket refusals, towards taking smarter, and more, case appropriate decisions, to share personal data, whilst complying with current data protection legislation. |

| Office for Students re-launch their work to tackle harassment and sexual misconduct in higher education

The work due to be taken forward by the OfS to tackle harassment and sexual misconduct in higher education was paused after the pandemic was declared. The work is now being relaunched and so we will hear an update on next steps, expectations they have set out for providers, and the results from the consultation launched last January 2020.
