Working for Universities UK

Woburn house, London

We offer great opportunities for people interested in working in a membership organisation for the higher education sector; our members are the executive heads of UK universities.

Our work brings together the leaders of UK universities to discuss and debate higher education issues, and to represent and campaign on their behalf to the government, business, media and beyond.

We offer a variety of opportunities both within our national office in London and in our offices in Cardiff and Edinburgh.

Our benefits include:

  • 27 days annual leave for Universities UK and Universities Wales staff and 26 days annual leave for Universities Scotland staff
  • Additional annual leave days for three and five years’ service
  • An additional four discretionary days per year and bank holidays
  • Interest-free season ticket loans after six months service
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Excellent learning and development opportunities
  • Flexitime system
  • Homeworking policy
  • 24-hour employee support line
  • Cycle scheme

Universities UK Inclusivity

Universities play a huge part in our everyday lives and working with our members and collaborating with overseas partners, Universities UK wants to help make a difference.

As part of our five-year strategic plan, UUK wants to create the conditions for UK universities to be the best in the world and make a positive impact in the local community as well as nationally and globally.

UUK offers opportunities for everyone, no matter your background, with multi-skilled and experienced teams needed to help us reach our goals. You do not need a 1st or a 2:1 to work at UUK, but you do need a passion for higher education and the enthusiasm to spread the message about what UK universities are doing and the impact they are having.

There are numerous benefits to working at UUK, including wellbeing programmes, learning and development opportunities and a flexitime working system, and outside of work, there are extra-curricular activities for all to enjoy.

Here, you and your work are valued and recognised, as seen in the staff celebration each month. Staff are respected and given the opportunity to grow.
